I have been drawing and painting now for a few years and completely consider myself to be self-taught. I began drawing from an early age, but never really considered painting until only a few years ago. I work mainly in Watercolour and Acrylics, (when painting), but I also love the purity of colour which pastels offer. When drawing I differ from graphite or charcoal, depending on my mood.
I really could not say that any one particular thing inspires me, since I have a wide interest in the values and shapes all natural and made-made things offer, and love the journey of creating an image from any subject. Although I tend to use my own photographs as reference material, I do not adhere to the photograph, since it often gives a distorted view on what the real colours of the subject should be.
